Life is hard, complicated, and confusing. We are all looking for meaning in our lives. Some people find it through their families, communities, and vocations, but this usually lasts for a short while before families fall apart, communities change, and vocations seem insufficient. Most of us spend our lives chasing different goals.

In our culture, what we do is often our identity. While what we do can reflect our values, ambition, talents, and purpose, it is not who we are. The natal chart gives a map of many of these basic things: talents, ambition, personality style, orientation, proclivities, and hints at childhood, past lives, and past life trauma, but none of that and all of that are only a piece of who we are and what we are capable of.

I also like to look at family dynamics, partners, and periods of transformation. These pieces form a narrative that the person living the life can not often see. There are often flashes of insight that go unrecognized, patterns that get dismissed, and interactions that remain confused. Within all these pieces is a story of a person’s life purpose.
