Winter Solstice Prayer

Tonight is the winter solstice, the darkest day of the year. It heralds the birth of the Sun. From each day onward, the Sun will stay in the sky longer. The ancients celebrated this day as the birth of the God. The period when the Great Goddess became ripe with child and started the march back toward the re-birth of the world in spring. The Romans co-opted this ancient tradition for their new God, Jesus Christ, just as they did when they turned the ancient Gods and Goddesses into Saints.

Based on astrological references in the bible, astrologers date JC’s real birthday to September. Jesus would have been a Virgo, which makes perfect sense. He came here to serve humanity. He was born of a virgin. Virgo is also the opposite sign to Pisces. The birth of JC heralded the start of the Piscean age—the age of belief.

The return of the sunlight comes today in the New Aquarian Age. Pluto has moved into Aquarius, where it will remain for nearly 20 years (March of 2043). We will see this New Age find its legs. Humanity will go through a huge wake-up call, and no, we will not be going into 5-D. We will come to realize that there is only one way forward. It is together as one interwoven siblinghood of humankind. All will have to be valued for any to survive. So it is in that spirit I offer a prayer.

Great Spirit, Mother/Father God/dess, we pray for peace on earth.

We ask You to open our hearts to all who suffer.

Pour out the milk of human kindness to those who need it.

Let each lift up the other.

May we learn that through each beating heart, we find You.

We are tiny sparks cast out from Your Eternal Flame, connecting all through Your Love and Compassion.

Please help us remember who we are so we may create Heaven on Earth.
