In the previous piece, we began with Aries, which represents creative action and initiative, and a similar idea in the bible when God declares, “Let there be light!” The next phase of development, physically, emotionally, and spiritually, moves from the initiatory infant stage of Aries to the manifestation energy of Taurus.

We go from the motto, “I am,” in the infinite now, to the physical orientation of “I have.” From the metaphor of the infant bursting into existence in the perennial present, the child becomes grounded in their environment, aware of his/her/their bodies and stuff. As toddlers, we learn to walk, talk, and operate our bodies and the physical world around us. This is the second spiritual stage - manifestation. All the beauty, sensuality, and stuff of the physical world comes into being, and we use, have, manipulate, and enjoy it. In this stage, object permanence becomes primary. The child learns that things remain even when they can’t see them. The awareness of one’s separateness, physicality, limitations, and time begins. This second stage of self-awareness and growth is focused on mastery of the body.
