Earlier this week, I woke in the middle of the night filled with dread. It was a mixed feeling. I knew Israel or, rather, Benjamin Netanyahu would be stupid and retaliate against Iran. I wasn’t sure if Iran would take the bait. For now, at least, it seems they haven’t. Frankly, I think Netanyahu is a sociopath who wants war because he believes it will keep him personally in power. He is cut from the same cloth as Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin. Shallow little insecure men whose only power is self-service. We all pay for this through their criminality, bullying, and destruction. These are the kind of men who would have been thrown out of their tribe, subject to exposure alone in the wild. These are the kind of men who belong behind bars not running the world.

What does this say about us? I think it reflects how absolutely terrified we are in the face of ecological collapse and how powerless we feel as our governments have been run into the ground by special interests. How small we have been made to feel in the face of such enormous and overwhelming decay.
