Spirit Speaks

I learned today, watching the news, that we are currently in an 85 year anniversary with Kristallnacht (November 9 & 10), known as the night of broken glass. All of a sudden I remembered something I heard spirit say at the end of 2022 about the coming year of 2023,” This will be the year of broken glass.” It was running in a loop in my mind. I thought it meant there would be earthquakes, literally broken glass - that did happen - this year there have been numerous giant earthquakes. Shortly after 2023 started a giant earthquake took almost 60,000 people’s lives in Turkey and Syria. There was also the earthquake in Morocco that took almost 3,000 lives and the earthquake in Afghanistan that took 1,500 people. Currently, there have been thousands of earthquakes in Iceland as a volcano appears to be gearing up to explode. The last time there was massive loss of life due to an earthquake(s) was the Haitian earthquake in 2010. If you put all the fatalities from earthquakes after that until this year, the loss of life is not even half of what occurred this year. The other thing I thought Spirit meant by, “this will be the year of broken glass,” was protests - this also happened by way of massive strikes. It wasn’t lost on me that “The Night of Broken Glass” and “The Year of Broken Glass” are identical except for the time reference. Clearly, the message had another meaning that spooked me and others. It implied a rise in antisemitism, perhaps even an attack against Jewish people similar to the attack before WWII broke out. Now I think back on it and realize the layered meaning of the words spirit spoke to me. It was also a reference to the rise in antisemitism and the start of the war in Israel. October 7, 2023, marks the day more Jews were murdered than at any other time since the Holocaust. Spirit often speaks in layers of meaning. It often surprises me how layered - this is an excellent example of that. This is why I tell the people I teach, “Just say what you get, don’t try to interpret it, you’ll get it wrong if you censor yourself.”
