I deemed 2023 “The Year of Broken Glass.” It started in February of 2023 with a series of earthquakes on the border of Turkey and Syria, where 55,000 people died, and ended on January 1, 2024, with a massive earthquake in Japan. Many people freaked out when I called the incoming 2023 The Year of Broken Glass due to the implication of Kristallnacht or Night of Broken Glass that started the Holocaust against Jewish people in Germany. It was certainly implied in the words that I heard repeatedly in my head. I knew those words would have many meanings. I predicted there would be big earthquakes in populated places where things would break, and there would be loss of life. I also thought there would be protests and awakening of the people to their oppression and of course we had one of the longest writer and actor strikes in the history of those unions. The strikes disrupted movie & TV production and fall TV schedules, impacted Southern California’s economy, and forced many people in the entertainment industry to sell their homes and move.
Clearly, the prediction given to me by whatever it is that speaks to me, my higher self, spirit guide, or some other part of my brain, in the words, The Year of Broken Glass, was a reference to the attack on Israel and the Jewish people. The reality was more Jewish people were murdered on Oct. 7, 2023, than had been since the Holocaust. This is often the way with spirit information; it is like an onion with layers that peel back more meaning. It’s why prophets and people like Nostradamus spoke in rhyme. I believe it was because he got pieces of information. It’s also possible he heard the predictions as poetry, something that happens to me quite often. After all, the language of spirit is poetry.
I expect 2024 to come with an escalation of war around the world, political violence, terrorism, and more indicators of climate change. None of that is psychic. It’s just logic. I know many people are anxious, even depressed, thinking about this new year. I do think for all of the insanity, there will also be an opportunity for individuals to have massive breakthroughs.
The sooner people realize our actual situation, the better our collective future will be. And the more we recognize where we truly are, the more we can embrace our lives and learn to live them to our best abilities in the face of all this chaos. The world will never be as it was in 1950, 1980, or 1990 ever again. We have come out of an era of peace and prosperity, unlike anything the world had ever seen in humanity’s history. We were spoiled, believing this was the norm and would continue indefinitely with only more and more improvement. If this was your normal, kiss it goodbye and make peace with this new world where the stakes are higher for good or ill, and your voice, light, and contribution are more important than ever.
While the world may feel shaky and scary and our future insecure, this means you have a job to do. You may ask yourself what that job is. That job is participating. If you are retired, participate in any political group representing one of your values. If you love animals, get involved with a political group that protects or saves them. If you are worried about democracy, join the ACLU and volunteer. If you are worried about the homeless, join Habitat for Humanities and build people's homes or help at a shelter. Your participation is key. Not just for what you are doing but for the light you are.
