Mourning America

Although it hasn’t hit many people, we are in the middle of an unfolding tragedy. It is only a matter of time before we wake up to find our neighbors, family members, friends, and ourselves missing. When there is no rule of law and a convicted felon’s will is the only thing being abided by, we are living not just in an authoritarian state but in one that is collapsing. What is driving all of this? Besides the insane fantasies of a few men the root cause is climate change. As much as the right has hemmed and hawed over this reality, it is driving our self-destruction.

In an unsustainable world, the greedy see their chance to shore up their own survival. They are building bunkers and heaping money at space travel. Are these obsessions coincidences? Of course not. They may argue about climate change, even lie about it. Still, they know that the earth is getting hotter, tornados are getting bigger and more ubiquitous, hurricanes are becoming monsters, and our world is suffocating in pollution. What is the quickest way to solve all of these problems? Eliminate as many people as you can, as quickly as you can.
