Milton will be the second major hurricane to hit Florida within two weeks. For years, I wondered how the stars would warn us about climate change. At the turn of the 21st century, scientists began finding dwarf planets and other celestial objects in the Keiper belt. Almost all of them have dark and disturbing mythology. Sedna, a sacrificial goddess of the sea, punishes her people when they step out of balance with nature. Orcus, punisher of the dead. The god from whom the Christian devil is fashioned. Eris, goddess of strife. These are just a few Keiper belt objects that tell us humanity has hit a threshold. We must face our shadow, self-destructiveness, and imbalance with nature. It was no coincidence that these planets were all discovered at the turn of this century as we approach the new climate change paradigm.
There has never been a storm like Milton before, and as far as I know, there have never been two major hurricanes hitting Florida within weeks of each other. So, what is going on with Florida? The astrology should reflect this period of mass destruction.
Florida is naturally prone to massive hurricanes. The Pisces Sun squares the ascendant and is ruled by Neptune in Aquarius (trauma through water and air) with an emphasis on property damage (conjunct Venus) and power, electrical, and technology problems as a result (conjunct Mercury in Aquarius). The ruler of all of the planets in Aquarius is Uranus in Aries conjunct Jupiter, exaggerated violent, aggressive storms that wreck communities (11th house). Florida went through a Neptune return in 2008, resetting its relationship with the ocean, storms, and loss.
Notice in the return that Neptune is exactly conjunct with the North Node within 1 minute! Chiron is nearby, indicating intensive traumatizing storms that are beyond healing. Chiron is a wound that can not be healed. It can only be accepted.
