Eris, the goddess of strife, has been in the sign of her brother Aries for over a hundred years now and will continue in his sign until 2044. Nearly everyone with Eris in Pisces is crossed over now, so I will only delineate its meaning in Aries.

Eris in Aries is about personal strife and identity strife. Who am I? What am I doing here? We each suffer this anxiety in modern society in different ways. Collectively, war itself has become indirect as Eris has been in Aries—ruler of war. The 20th century into the 21st century has been an unprecedented period of change. Centuries of traditions have been upended, and even as new ones formed, they were upended again by rapid technological changes. The traditions of apprenticeship, professions, jobs, and marriages that last a lifetime no longer hold. People find themselves having to reinvent themselves many times throughout their lifetimes.
