Chaos IS the Point

Many people are waking up and wondering, what country do I live in? I thought this was a democracy.

It was.

But while they were busy hating trans people, women, and people of color and worrying about other people receiving benefits from their “hard-earned tax money,” they didn’t feel disserved a “hand-out.” They fell down a grievance hole of hate, anger, outrage, victimhood, narcissism, greed, and selfishness stoked by FOX News, right-wing talk radio, and the current proliferation of right-wing news sources, hate groups, podcasts, and social media influencers.

At any time, these individuals could have looked inside their souls and questioned their lack of compassion. They could have used their “Christian Values” as a guidepost instead of their brokenness and hate. Now, these people are waking up to a world where the man they put in charge, the man they thought said the quiet parts out loud and whom they called “honest” because of it, is doing the very thing they have been calling for. He is ruthlessly cutting benefits and programs that benefit anyone with a “hand-out,” like farmers, medicare and Medicaid recipients, people who collect Social Security, and those on SNAP. I wonder if these individuals thought Trump would only take “entitlements” away from people they didn’t like. (Sidebar - a word about entitlement means you are entitled to it because you already paid for it. This Republican double-speak, making entitlement a dirty word, is a way for Republicans and wealthy people to steal from the poor and give to the rich.)
